Hi there! At Write for Earth, we get a few questions surrounding the anthology and report, so we’ve put together this FAQ page! Scroll down for answers to the most common questions we receive about our work.
If you can’t quite find the answer to your question, send us an email at writeforearth.anthology[at]gmail.com and we’ll get back to you!
I want to Write for Earth, but I want to write in a style that isn’t given as an example, can I still do that?
Yes! The ways in which you can Write for Earth are non-exhaustive. All we require is that your submission is written and does not include any audio or videographic content.
What is the deadline for submissions?
The deadline for submissions is 09:00 AM BST on Thursday 1st September.
Are all submissions included within the anthology?
Yes! If your submission is about hopes for the future, it will certainly be included.
We will not accept any submissions that promote, celebrate or otherwise aim to advance ideas of racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia. This list is non-exhaustive, and submissions will be monitored by the Write for Earth team.
Is there a minimum or maximum length that submissions can be?
Submissions should be no more than 1000 words. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept theses (bachelor’s, master’s or PhD) as part of the anthology. However, if you have graduated with the degree your thesis contributed, you may submit an excerpt if your topic was relevant to the scope of the Write for Earth anthology.
Can I get a copy of the anthology and report if my work is included in it?
A copy of the anthology and the report will be made available online to be shared across social media platforms. We are currently investigating the potential of providing printed copies to those who request them, and the economic and environmental costs of doing so. If you could support us to make this happen in an earth-friendly way, please do send us an email at writeforearth.anthology[at]gmail.com
